The flipped classroom is one where multimedia is used to enhance student learning outside of class, so that classroom time may be used for active learning techniques. For example, a student in a culinary class may watch a video lecture on plating techniques, look at several pictures, read a chapter in the text book about plating presentations, and take a quiz on that same topic. The student will then come to class for hands-on practice and group discussion.
